- As a responsible corporate citizen, Southern Lion also embarks on social contribution programs.
- In 1998, the LION Dental Hygiene Center (LDHC) was set up with the help from LION Dental Health Foundation, Japan.
- The purpose of this set-up was to increase awareness on oral care among the Malaysian public through a programme called the 'LION Dental Health'.
- Through this program, children from all across Malaysia are able to learn how to take good care of their teeth, presented in an interesting and fun way.
- Since its inception in 1998, the LION Dental Hygiene Center has managed to reach out to more than 200,000 children across Malaysia including Sabah &s Sarawak.
- The LDHC has also worked closely with government dental authorities in its roadshows by providing free dental check-ups and dental exhibitions.
- In 2005, LDHC reached a milestone when it managed to conduct the 1st Dental Rally in Johor Bahru with co-operation from Johor Bahru Dental Services.
- And in 2006, the number of participants to the Dental Rally doubled and more children have benefited from this program.
