SYSTEMA has launched the #GumHealthFirst campaign in collaboration with the Malaysia Society of Periodontology (MSP) and the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to address the widespread issue of gum disease in Malaysia. Dr. Noormi Othman of MOH highlighted that 94.5% of Malaysian adults suffer from unhealthy gums, with a higher prevalence among those aged 35-44. Gum disease, including severe forms like periodontitis, is a significant public health concern, impacting overall well-being. SYSTEMA aims to raise awareness and encourage proactive gum care through education on proper oral hygiene practices and the use of effective dental products, such as their SlimTech toothbrushes and specialized toothpaste. MSP president Dr. Mohd Faizal Hafez Hidayat emphasized the serious risks of untreated gum disease, including tooth loss and chronic health conditions, advocating for daily preventive measures like regular brushing, flossing, and avoiding tobacco.
